Little Bay

For a bite to eat in Kilburn the cobbled streets of Lonsdale Road call. From the rustic, organic offering at Hugo’s to the wood fired cuisine at Ostuni’s, locals enjoy the eateries on the pedestrian-friendly street as much as the weekly farmers market.

A better kept secret, however, lies further east Tucked behind Kilburn High Road Overground.  Away from the hustle and bustle of the ever-busy high street, lies a European delight in the form of Little Bay.

With two entrances adding to the mystery of the entirely candlelit space, the interiors are distinctively elegant – with material draped effortlessly yet orderly across the ceiling, and candlelight reflecting from decorative golden statue facades...
What makes the spot truly special and worth a visit is the restaurant layout. Taking the private booth to a new level, Little Bay boasts secret elevated areas and enclaves, accessed by oak staircases which are artfully crafted to provide views across the restaurant through various sized peep-holes; a glimpse of the outside world is also provided through a quirky triangle-shaped window.

With each table comes a couple of long-stalk candles in wine bottles, wax freely spilling down the sides. Faces are given a healthy glow, whilst booths enjoy seats lined with silk and velvet patterned material.

Warmth and friendly chatter fuse to create a truly relaxed atmosphere. Here there is a genuine Mediterranean feel, made all the more authentic by the soundtrack playing overhead. Curated tunes in-keeping with the European theme play low enough to permit great conversation with ease, but loud enough to create the holiday ambience. You would be forgiven for believing you were a million miles from Kilburn and the January winter chill.

To top it off, the menu offers great quality at really reasonable prices, early-bird options and a variety of choice catering for both vegetarians and meat-lovers. The prompt service and friendly staff ensure the warm glow will stay with you on the drizzly walk home.
